Version 3 of GPSANGLER offers some new, exciting features so we can catch even more fish!
Completely rewritten from the ground up, the software incorporates zoomable charts, easier navigation between windows and the highlight of the release, 3D Wreck Analysis. See below for details of the new components that have been incorporated into GPSANGLER Version 3 - the most cost-effective PC navigation system available! (Click on images for larger view....)
Differences from Version 2
Version 3 has several differences from Version 2. Among them are:-
|
|
-
COG Arrow - Indicates overall Heading of Vessel. Variable length.
-
Turn Indicator Panel - Shows direction and degrees of Turn, or a "tick" if the boat is dead on course. This is a standard window, so may be moved to any convenient position on the screen.
-
Zoomable Charts - see below........
-
3D Wreck Analysis - see below.......

Some users have requested the ability to "zoom" charts, both in and out. Version 3 now has this feature, using the mouse wheel. The chart in the centre here is the "unzoomed" one.
This facility records depths around and upon a wreck, although it
may be used for any feature that attracts fish. Depths that are less than the normalised sea bed are interpreted as the outline of a wreck. It stores the data on a disk file, so the depths are available on future visits to the site. A very detailed view can therefore be built up over multiple trips.
A 1GHZ CPU with RAM of 512MB running Windows XP are the recommended requirements for running Version 3. A 1024 x 768 screen is also needed. We know this contradicts the original design philosophy of GPSANGLER, but we have had so many requests to incorporate zoomed charts and a 3d view of the sea bed. Wreck viewing can be turned off to reduce the CPU requirement a trifle. Most of the RAM requirement is for zoomed charts. These are the recommended requirements; if you have a PC of lesser specifications download the demonstration file and give it a go......
An Added Bonus - Multiple Screens
Most laptops have a socket for an extra screen. If we utilise this facility with a 15 inch screen running on 12 volts, with Version 3 and Windows XP we can have say the Vessel/Target display running in the cabin on the laptop display, with the main chart display running on the secondary screen at the helm. Or any other combination you can think of. It also means that the (valuable?) laptop is not exposed to life above decks. Just a thought.........
GPSANGLER Version 3 is offered at no additional cost to existing and new purchasers of the base release. For demo version see "Function Overview".
